Our eldest daughter has graduated from college. I heard it took 40 minutes just for the graduates to enter the stadium at OSU due to the sheer number of students. Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend because I had to lead our Sunday service at church. However, for my wife’s graduation from her School of Education master’s program on Saturday, May 10, all six members of our family will be together. It is all by the grace of God. (첫째 딸이 대학을 졸업했습니다. 졸업식이 있었던 OSU 스타디움에 엄청난 수의 졸업생들이 입장하는데만 40분이 걸렸다고 합니다. 물론 저는 교회에서 주일 예배 인도를 해야해서 함께 하지 못했습니다. 그러나 5월10일 토요일에 있을 아내의 교육 대학원 졸업식에는 저희 가족 6명 완전체가 모입니다. 모든 것이 하나님의 은혜 입니다.)

 After many ups and downs, I have finally received my doctoral degree and graduated. All of this is purely by the grace of God. I am deeply grateful to my wife and children for their patience throughout this long journey, and I also feel sorry for the time they had to wait. Our eldest daughter couldn’t attend the ceremony because her own graduation is just two days later. My wife will also be graduating with her master’s degree on May 10. It is truly by God's grace that three members of our six-person family are graduating in the same month of May. (우여곡절 끝에 박사학위를 받고 졸업을 했습니다. 모든 것이 주님의 은혜입니다. 오랜 동안 기다려준 아내와 아이들에게 미안하고 감사합니다. 첫째 딸 아이는 자신의 졸업식이 이틀 후에 있어서 참석하지 못했습니다. 아내 교육 대학원 졸업식도 5월10일에 있습니다. 저희 가족 6명 중 3명이 5월에 졸업을 하게 되는 것은 전적인 하나님의 은혜입니다.)

 Today, my son and I spent some time in the garage replacing the front rotors and brake pads on our Honda Odyssey. My wife had been concerned about the steering wheel shaking whenever she hit the brakes, so we decided to take care of it. After finishing the repairs, we took the van for a test drive on the highway, pushing it to higher speeds, and I’m happy to say it handled smoothly with no issues. As I reflected on this, I found myself praying that just as the brakes are now solid and steady, the Holy Spirit would guide me each day to stay firm in my faith, running the race of life without wavering to the left or right. 오늘은 차고에서 아들과 함께 혼다 오딧세이 앞 바퀴 좌 우 rotor 와 Brake pad 를 교체했습니다. 브레이크를 밟을 때마다 steering wheel 이 흔들림이 있어서 불편해하는 아내를 위해 이 작업을 마치고 High way에서 빠른 속도로 달리며 테스트를 해보니 아주 안정적으로 작업이 잘 마쳐졌음을 확인했습니다. 저 자신도 성령께서 날마다 만져주셔서 좌로나 우로나 흔들림없이 견고한 믿음의 경주를 평생토록 하길 간절히 기도해봅니다.

 디어필드 베어커리에서 구입한 작은 케익과 바로 건너편 스타벅스에서 내려준 커피는 금상첨화의 조화를 이룹니다. 바쁘고 빠른 일상 속에서 아내와 순도 높고 짧은 데이트 시간은 꼭 지키려고 해봅니다. 다른 모든 것은 나중에도 보완 될 수 있지만, 아내와 보낼 수 있는 시간은 한번 지나가면 절대 다시 돌아오지 않고 보완할 수 도 없기 때문입니다. 여건이 되지 않아도 잠시 노력을 기울여 이 시간을 가질 수 있게 해주신 하나님께 감사할 뿐입니다. (The small cake purchased from Deerfield Bakery and the coffee brewed at the Starbucks right across the street create a perfect harmony. Amidst our busy and fast-paced lives, I make a concerted effort to preserve these pure, short dates with my wife. Everything else can be compensated for later, but the time spent with my wife, once gone, can never be reclaimed or made up for. I am only grateful to God for allowing us to have this time, even when circumstances are not ideal.)

 지난번 사고로인해 폐차 되면서도 돈을 남기며 감동을 주던 혼다 어코드(Honda Accord)가 아직 그립습니다. 하지만 떠나 보내야 맞이함을 누릴 수 있다는 생각에 이번에는 새로운 친구 토요타 캠리(Toyota Camry XLE)를 입양했습니다. 저를 보자마자 자기가 저를 오랜동안 기다렸다고 윙크를 하는 바람에 집으로 데려왔는데 참 잘한것 같습니다. 오래 같이 살자. (I still miss the Honda Accord that was totaled in the last accident, even though it left a lasting impression by leaving some money behind. However, I realized that I have to let go to welcome something new. So, this time, I adopted a new friend: the Toyota Camry XLE. As soon as it saw me, it winked as if it had been waiting for me for a long time. I brought it home, and it seems like a great decision. Here's to living together for a long time.)

 사고가 있었습니다. 제 아내와 둘째 넷째 아이가 함께 타고 있던 자동차 뒤를 검은색 SUV 가 뒤에서 충돌했습니다. 자동차는 둘 다 폐차가 되었습니다. 아내는 뇌진탕 진단을 받았고 아들도 후유증으로 힘들어 하고 있습니다. 아내와 아이들의 회복과 자동차를 구하는 것을 놓고 기도부탁드립니다.

(There was a car accident. A black SUV hit the vehicle in which my wife and two sons were. Both vehicles were totaled. My wife was diagnosed with a concussion, and one son is struggling with post-concussion syndrome. Please pray for the recovery of my wife and children, and to get another car.)

 On the day of the eclipse, I fixed the broken rice cooker that wouldn't cook rice properly and kept drying it out. The cause was a disconnected pressure sensor wire. Today, delicious rice will be cooked. (개기 일식이 있는 오늘, 저는 밥도 잘 안되고 만든 밥도 금방 말라버리는 고장난 밥통을 고쳤습니다. 압력센서로 가는 전선이 끊어져 있었습니다. 오늘은 맛있는 밥이 만들어질 겁니다.)
